An exciting journey into the world of Neapolitan music which has had an enormous influence on both artists and listeners. The programme highlights the developments in the musical writing of this great artistic people – from the villanelle of the 1600s, to the first tarantella, and then on to the classic songs and to today’s blues-rock – and illustrates the principal themes that continue to inspire: Naples itself, America and the search for work, love, the criminal underworld, lost innocence.

A literary event, an epistolary narrative that unfolds between Germany and America in the early 1930s, that tells the story of Martin, a German, and Max, an American Jew, two close friends and business associates, whose relationship will be a victim of the cruel ideological madness that Nazism was creating. A sentimental and instructive dialogue that begins with a deep friendship and gradually makes us discover how evil can insinuate itself into people’s lives and change their destiny.
