Multisensory paths of art, theatre, music, aromas and flavours
Every Thursday in July and August at 9.30 pm
Ancona, Museo Omero, Via Tiziano 50

Sensi d'Estate is back for its eighth edition. The cultural evenings have become a favourite with the public thanks to their original formula of multi-sensory events blending art, music, odours and flavours. Our thanks go to the Regione Marche, the Provincia and the Comune of Ancona for their kind patronage and to the Banca delle Marche for their sponsorship.

Music, Theatre, Sculpture
Terrazza Palazzo Leopardi, Palazzo Regione Marche – Entrance from the Museo Omero

Young artistes and tradition are highlighted in shows, concerts and performances.
The concerts cover all genres – classic, modern, funky, pop, jazz – and generations: new talents from the Istituto Pergolesi and the Accademia Musicale, Ancona, folk songs from La Macina (20 August), young local bands in the Tribute to Fabrizio De Andrè by Domenica Vernassa, which opens the series. Sport also plays an important part in this year’s programme with a special event dedicated to Candido Cannavò: an evening hosted by the journalist Massimo Carboni, featuring guests from the world of athletics and art and a sculpture "Candido" by Felice Tagliaferri (9 July). Other evenings will be dedicated to the theatre and meetings with authors.

A pause for art

Every week there will be an area of the Museo dedicated to the appreciation of contemporary art through the hands and the mind.

The Taste Workshops

These are Slow Food tastings where good food and good wine are considered first and foremost as pleasures. Food producers and experts will be present to talk about food and wine with participants who can taste, touch, judge, comment, compare, ask questions in a convivial atmosphere.
At 8 pm every Thursday, except 9 July and 13 August. Booking is essential. Maximum: 35 participants. Cost: 5 Euros.

The "Cielo e Terra" Mural

This year the tastings in our courtyard has a colourful backdrop made by pupils from the neighbouring “Donatello” Junior Secondary School. Pupils chose the blue of the sky, the green of the land and the yellow of the broom, to evoke their city in a joint project with the Museo Omero and decorate the open space they share. We thank Rumori Irno e Figlio srl, Ancona for their sponsorship.

Tastings - Museo Omero Courtyard

Rounding off each evening is a treat for the taste-buds with drinks, sorbets and freshly-made ice cream. The drinks are provided by Mario Cecconi of Osimo. The wonderful ice cream comes from the “Al Belvedere” gelateria artigianale, Agugliano.
