May: A month of itinerant consultations

In May, the experts from the Omero Museum, who have been offering consultancy and promoting the culture of accessibility for years, will be active from North to South Italy, sharing their expertise on these important topics.
May 8–9: Accessibility in cultural sites
“Study day on accessibility in cultural sites: strategies and best practices for an inclusive experience”
Aldo Grassini, President of the Omero Museum, and Annalisa Trasatti, Services Coordinator, will present a talk titled: “The aesthetic value of tactility: the experience of the Omero Museum.”
The event is organized by the Sicilian Region and the Archaeological and Landscape Park of Syracuse, Eloro, Villa del Tellaro, and Akrai.
Location: Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum, Syracuse.
May 8–9: A land of encounter, dialogue, and knowledge
Study day on educational themes in conjunction with the presentation of the book “A land of encounter, dialogue, and knowledge: experiences of inclusion in the cultural heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia.”
The publication is curated by the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture for Friuli Venezia Giulia, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate for Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape.
These study days are part of the vicino/lontano – Premio Terzani 2025 Festival.
Monica Bernacchia, Head of Communication at the Omero State Tactile Museum, will present a talk titled “Educate, share, communicate.”

May 9: Accessibility is Culture
Study day hosted at the Regional Gallery of Palazzo Bellomo in Syracuse, organized by Vis.In.Musa and the University of Catania.
Andrea Socrati will participate online with a presentation titled “Cultural heritage and accessibility.”
May 14: Heritage without barriers
Presentation of the results from “Heritage without barriers: The MuseIT project for an inclusive cultural experience through technology.”
Daniela Bottegoni, founder of the Omero Museum, and Alessia Varricchio from the Museum’s Communication Office will speak with a presentation titled “Beyond digital: the Omero Museum and accessibility that starts with people.”
In the afternoon, there will be a session to test the technologies showcased.

May 15–17: Accessibility in Media, Performing Arts, and Cultural Heritage
Stories, paradigms, revolutions.
This conference aims to assess the development of accessibility in media, performing arts, and cultural heritage in Italy and abroad, discussing best practices and highlighting current and future needs and opportunities.
Aldo Grassini, President of the Omero Museum, will speak in the plenary session in dialogue with sculptor Felice Tagliaferri, and Andrea Socrati, consultant for the Museum, will present “L'ombra vede: A multisensory and inclusive exhibition on artist Enzo Cucchi.”

May 15–16: Accessibility Days Milan
Once again this year, we will take part in the Accessibility days hosted by the Institute for the blind in Milan, ensuring our training remains current and informed.

May 31: Tolentino – Landscapes and Cultural Heritage
As part of the event organized by the Zagreus Association, the talk “Accessibility and inclusion in cultural sites: the experiences of the Omero State Tactile Museum and the University of Macerata” will be given by Annalisa Trasatti and Francesca Raffi.
