Foyer of the Auditorium, Mole Vanvitelliana, Ancona
Opening: Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 AM
The Museo Omero and the cultural association “Uomini delle Navi”, with the support of Fincantieri, CRN, the “Volterra-Elia” High School, the Motopescherecci Cooperative, and the Tugboat Company, present the preview of the exhibition “Boats and Ships – Shapes, Structures, Materials.”
The exhibition will be open to the public from May 17 to 22, during Tipicità in Blu, the festival celebrating maritime culture.
An Inclusive and Accessible Experience
Designed to be explored through touch, the exhibition follows the inclusive approach of the Museo Omero. Scale models, authentic materials, tools, and tactile technical drawings guide visitors along a journey that reveals the hidden soul of boats and ships.
Each vessel tells a story of ingenuity, technique, and tradition. From design to construction, the exhibition offers insights into how boats and ships are built, which materials are used, and what shapes define their structure and function.
An Exhibition of Many Collaborations
This preview marks the first step of a broader exhibition project currently under development. The goal is to highlight maritime culture and shipbuilding expertise through collaboration between public institutions, schools, industry, and local communities.
Touch Knowledge, Navigate with the Mind
“Boats and ships – Shapes, structures, materials” is an invitation to rediscover the deep connection between humans and the sea through the art of shipbuilding. A unique opportunity for students, enthusiasts, families, and curious minds of all ages.
