Voluntary Civil Service is an opportunity offered to young people between 18 and 28 years old to dedicate themselves to a project aimed at the unarmed and non-violent defense of the Nation, education, peace among peoples, and the promotion of the founding values of the Republic.
Voluntary Civil Service provides young people with a strong educational and training experience, an important and often unique opportunity for personal growth, and a chance to learn active citizenship, while contributing to the social, cultural, and economic development of our country.
Since 2004, the Museo Tattile Statale Omero has been presenting projects for the involvement of Civil Service Volunteers in Italy in the fields of artistic and cultural heritage, education, and cultural promotion.
The projects are focused on cultural accessibility, with particular attention to improving the integration of people with visual disabilities, while also addressing all those who wish to experience knowledge through non-visual channels, understood as enrichment and as a new cultural and educational approach.
